5 Affirmations for Stressful Times

I’m not sure if you’re feeling it - but the stress of the news and what is out of my control is truly heightening my anxiety these days.

If you're feeling the pressure right now (like myself) - here are a few things to tell yourself when you feel stressed out…


1. I am in control.

  • Say to yourself…

    • I am in control of how I respond to situations.

    • I am capable of making the best choices for myself.

2. I am here now.

  • Notice where your thoughts take you!

    • Instead of focusing on what I need to get done this month (or even week) - I’ve been focusing on what I need to navigate today!

3. I’ve made it through before, I’ll make it through again.

  • Check in with your energy and how you feel

    • I’ve been reminding myself that I've dealt with stressful times before, and I made it through.

    • Maybe say to yourself: “I can do this”.

4. I accept my current situation.

  • Check in with your situation.

    • You may say: “I accept this situation for what it is”.

    • Notice what comes up - and if you can't accept it, work to change it.

5. I am excited about… <fill in the blanks>

  • If I find myself nervous or anxious about something, I will channel it into excitement.

    • Say to yourself: “I choose to focus on the good opportunities that come my way.”

    • Remind yourself of what you are excited about (some days that’s having a warm cup of coffee for me)!


I know these have helped me navigate days where I feel like my deep breaths are not working!

I hope these affirmations help you feel a little less stressed or anxious.
