Kids Yoga: Getting Your Little One On the Mat

I love having Brooklyn joining me for a yoga practice! With more kids at home through the summer - here are a few tips to get your little one(s) to join you on your mat!

GET THEM INVOLVED

  • As soon as I start my practice, I make sure to roll out a mat / towel or put down a meditation pillow for Brooklyn to use. This allows for an open invitation for your kiddos to join you as they like!

  • I personally LOVE B Yoga products for myself and my little one.

RELEASE EXPECTATIONS

  • Some days the frustration is REAL! But releasing expectations of what the practice “should” look like or how much / little your little one gets involved will be huge.

  • Remember this is time together - and an opportunity for them to explore the practice with you!

JAM TO MUSIC

  • I love having music on in the background - and it’s fun to notice how each song connects to you and your little one in a different way!

  • Brooklyn is now obsessed with hearing Krishna Das at the end of practice to chill out on the meditation pillow! We have been listening to this playlist together…

ADD SOMETHING FOR THEM

  • I love adding a fun book to the class to check in on key things that my yoga practice brings me (and maybe my little one).

  • I usually use books about feelings, calming and / or connection!

What are you excited to incorporate into adding you little one to your yoga practice?

Cannot wait to hear how it goes -
